If you are looking for a rugby club that enjoys winning, hard work, and a great sense of team unity, Middlesex RFC is the club for you. Since our inception in 2002, the Barbarians have increasingly become a sound rugby club in just a few years.

At Middlesex, our motto of "15 as 1" is evident throughout the team. We have an excellent group of older players, who are helping to bring along and educate our large group of young talent. These older, more experienced players are instrumental in furthering the success of our club. Although they may be losing a step, they've done a tremendous job in establishing our social network. The Barbarians use this social network to assist each other in finding jobs and apartments as many of our players live or have lived together, as well as work together. This social network has increasingly become one of the best and strongest parts of the team. It has aided in establishing great team chemistry, as large numbers of the team hang out on a regular basis.

Middlesex has taken talent from schools all over the country—see below. Before they joined the team, the one thing all these players had in common was their love for the game. Now something that they all have in common is that they're Barbarians. Our approach of having such a diversified team has resulted in tremendous success over the past few seasons. Here’s a look at our team’s successes over the last four years.

One of the best reasons to play for Middlesex, other than our respected record on the field, and team chemistry, is our coaching staff, led by Head Coach Josh Smith. Josh is a highly respected coach, as evidenced by his desire to win. Josh has won at every level, whether it was playing in college at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where he won back-to-back Northeast Championships in ’97 and ’98., or at Bentley University where he coached the Men’s team to back-to-back National Championships in ’06 and ’07. This year, he is also the Head Coach of the NERFU South Collegiate All Stars Squad.

This past fall was our first season in Division 2, where we went undefeated during the regular season.  With a win at the NRU playoffs on the first day, we qualified to advance to the National round of 16 in the spring - location TBD.  Players of all abilities are welcome, including prospective players who have never stepped foot on a rugby pitch. If you have questions, please feel free to contact any one of our officers.  Thank you for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Josh Skinner
